And So Then What’s Next?

As I talked about last time, I originally thought of “Big Beasts” as a single book without anything following it.  The biggest question I’ve gotten when talking to readers has been:  Did you know how everything was going to happen?

Clearly, the simple answer is that I didn’t know how everything was going to happen, and yet I did at the same time.  I have found that when I’m working on stuff, even things that end up being pretty tight from a narrative and plot standpoint, I can’t help leaving aspects of the world unexplored and unexplained.  This doesn’t make me a bad author.  It makes me a normal author.

Think of your favorite book, series, or author’s work.  Were there parts they mentioned in a way that caught your attention?  Maybe it’s seeing something in the distance – a herd of galloping giraffes with beaver tails or a tower with the setting sun glinting off the glass roof – and that’s it.  For the author, it might have been flavor or something they’re going back to in other books.  But for you, it is a thing you’re dying to know about.

Having said all that, I found those places for myself that I knew pointed to a much bigger world and place underneath.  Then, I jumped right into it.

So now I get to reveal three HUGE things:

  • The title of the sequel
  • The cover of the sequel
  • Most important, the release date
“Lost Beasts” Release Date Tuesday, October 22, 2024

Please help me welcome this into the world because I’m so excited for it to be here.  Preorders are available at all major retailers and independent bookstores.  Let’s kick this leg off with a BANG.

Enjoy the Journey.  We’re all on it together.
